Dallas Agreed and
Uncontested Divorces Costs and Legal Fees

At one time we quoted flat fees for agreed divorces. We have since changed our position because every divorce case is different. Even though the documents may be similar between agreed divorce and agreed divorce, each divorce case rests upon a different set of facts, personalities and problems. For example, in today's world of stock market wealth, 401(k), and employee contribution plans, almost all "uncontested divorces" will require some closing document work. With Qualified Domestic Relation Orders, there is no set form. They vary from company to company. Even though we employ the most advanced automation technologies, attorney time is still required.

Attorney's Fees? In general, the most agreed in county, no property, no child divorce will start at $1,500.00 plus costs. In addition, we offer a "Pro Se" (by yourself) package.

By Yourself Divorce

We have come across a number of people who have attempted to prepare their divorce documents on their own. Usually, they spend several hours in the County Law Library and untold hours trying to draft the documents. Since a divorce case is somewhat complex no matter how simple, they usually end up spending a world of time that produces incorrect documents. In the end, they come to us to fix it.

We developed this portion of the agreed divorce site to help the people of Dallas and the State of Texas get their agreed divorce at low cost.

If your funds are extremely limited, you might consider our "By Yourself Divorce" package. This package is helpful to those who are trying to get a divorce but simply cannot afford lawyer participation. Our role in this case is limited to preparation of the appropriate documents for you at minimum costs, however, we do not sign the documents or take responsibility for the case. This is "Pro Se" representation. You represent yourself. You do the leg work. You present the case. How does it work?

(1)    You contact our office and state that you are looking for the "Pro Se" divorce. We will then schedule a Friday afternoon appointment for you.

(2)    Initial Pleadings. At our initial meeting, we will prepare a divorce petition and waiver of citation for you based upon the information that you provide. This service does not include preparation of the Final Decree of Divorce. We charge a one hour minimum for this service or $250.00.  If preparation of your pleadings take longer,  then the fee will reflect that time. Payment must be made in cash, cashier's check, or money order. Our responsibility to you ends at this juncture unless you seek additional services.

(3)    Final Decree of Divorce: Preparation of Final Decree of Divorce. At any point after 60 days from the date you filed the divorce documents, you are eligible for divorce.

If you wish us to prepare your final decree of divorce, you must contact our office and request this service. We will then prepare a Final Decree of Divorce, state information sheets, and a list of questions for your prove-up based upon information that you provide. We will then forward the documents to you. A two hour minimum is required or $450.00. Any closing documents which are necessary other than the ones discussed above are billed at regular rates. Payment must be made in cash or cashier's check prior to distribution of the documents.

If you own real property, have retirement accounts, or issues with regards to marital debt and tax liability, you will not qualify for the By Yourself Divorce. Active attorney participation will be required.

Dallas Divorce Lawyers, provides this service to the people of Dallas, and the State of Texas in order to provide low cost legal services to those seeking a divorce. If your case is more complex or if you need "some" active attorney participation, then you will have to enter into a regular contractual agreement with us.

If you need more information with regards to the divorce process, custody, or property issues, please feel free to contact us at Dallas Lawyer or call 214.369.7100 and ask for Earl Jackson.
